Shiva, the Powerful

Of the trinity of Hindu gods , Shiva holds the position of power. He has the simplicity (bholenath in Hindi), the power to destroy ( third eye on his forehead , usually remains closed , to be opened for destruction, when his is on anger) and the most fascinating persona and presence. His many forms can inspire me to paint him in different forms. Here I see him ruling the celestial world in his calm avatar, with peace on his countenance and his constant companions, the trrishoo (his spear like three headed weapon) the snakes and the damroo (little hand held drum)
